Course content
Content of practice: 1. Use and differences between MS Servers, editions, 64-bit platforms 2. Introduction to account and resource administration, server roles and functions, Server Manager 4. Creating and managing user and computer accounts in a workgroup and domain 5. Basics of AD DS administration 6. Organizational units (OU), delegation of rights 7. User group management, use, types, and scopes 8. Group Policy implementation; restrictions 9. Policy analysis, modeling 10. Event logs, filtering, assigned tasks 11. Drives and partitions, addresses, EFS, compression, quotas 12. File resource management, NTFS, permissions and rights, sharing; effective permissions; password configuration, security, security templates 13. Printing implementation; remote desktop; system backup and recovery

Learning outcomes
Mastering the practical side of the basics of working with Windows Server and the ADDS environment. The student will learn the basics of licensing, deploying and administrating a Windows server. In addition, the student will be mastering the basics of Active Directory Domain services administration and security. Everything is practically oriented with only the minimum necessary theory.

Prerequisites
Knowledge from courses Operating Systems I and Computer Networks I, recommended knowledge from course Operating Systems II, basic knowledge of MS Windows
