Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with basic concepts and works of Southern Gothic as one of the most influential modes or genres of American literature of the 20th century. The course covers basic concepts, significant works, and the lasting heritage of the Southern Gothic in American culture.
Students acquire a comprehensive idea of Southern Gothic and its impact on contemporary American literature and culture.

Basic knowledge of American literature and the ability to read the literary works in English.
