Course content
The course covers the second half of the coursebook: 9. New business - start-ups, managing contacts, long and short vowel contrasts 10. Communications - dealing with information, resolving problems, telephoning skills 11. Change - managing change, future plans, giving feedback 12. Data - describing data, reporting, visual information 13. Culture - cross-cultural awareness, social media marketing 14. Performance - staff appraisals, evaluating performance, trends 15. Career breaks - career development, talking about experience, interview skills Selected Viewpoint video sections addressing contemporary business topics are incorporated into the course. Project development in this semester focuses on: - pricing and positioning strategy - marketing and communication planning - financial and performance considerations - risk assessment and feasibility - preparation of a structured launch pitch

Learning outcomes
The course further develops students' language competence in Business English at upper-intermediate level. It builds on Business English I and focuses on advanced communicative competence in professional contexts, including strategic discussion, problem-solving, negotiation and presentation skills. Teaching is based on the second half of Business Result (Second Edition, Upper-Intermediate). The team-based Product / Service Launch project continues and culminates in a structured final presentation supported by evidence from authentic business sources.
By the end of the course, students will be able to: - communicate confidently in a range of professional business situations - analyse and describe data using appropriate language - negotiate and justify strategic decisions - evaluate business performance and discuss trends - deliver a structured, evidence-based business presentation - respond effectively to questions and critical feedback
Prerequisites
Minimal knowledge of English at the B1 level of CEFR.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's language skills, Test, Interim evaluation

- Attendance (maximum three absences) and active participation - Continued team work on the project - Interim and final presentations - Regular work on the accompanying online platform - Final test (minimum 60%; one resit permitted)
