Course content
1. Introduction - Bronze- and Early Iron Age in the Central Europe: trends and paradigmates, chronology, periodisation, current stage of knowledge. 2. Southern and southwestern Germany in the Early and Middle Bronze Age. 3. Southern and southwestern Germany in the Urnfield Period. 4. Southern and southwestern Germany in the Hallstatt and Early La Tene Age. 5. Switzerland in the Bronze and Early Iron Age. 6. Northern Italy in the Bronze and Early Iron Age. 7. Slovenia and Northern Croatia in the Bronze and Early Iron Age. 8. Austria in the Early and Middle Bronze Age. 9. Austria in the Urnfield Period and Hallstatt Age. 10. Carpathian Basin (Slovakia, Hungary, Transylvania, Vojvodina) in the Early and Middle Bronze Age. 11. Carpathian Basin (Slovakia, Hungary, Transylvania, Vojvodina) in the Urnfield Period and Hallstatt Age. 12. Poland in the Bronze and Early Iron Age. 13. Central and Northern Germany in the Bronze and Early Iron Age. 14. Summary: position of Bohemia in the Central European Bronze- and Early Iron Age.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is the intensify of student´s knowledge about the development of Central Europe in the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age, i.e. in the period of about 2300 - 400 BC.
Students intensify their knowledge about the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age in Central Europe, especially about literature, archaeological sources and research methods connected with mentioned epochs.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age in Czech land and in Central Europe in the standards of the bachelors study of Archeology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Essay, Student performance assessment

Written examination. Knowledge of the teaching subjects and the recommended specialized literature; it will be taken the activity in the discussions during the teaching into consideration. In seminars each student must present a paper on chosen topic.
