Course content
1. Introduction: characteristic of the Period, traditions of the Copper Age. 2. Man: anthropology, genetics, Indoeuropeans, ethnogenesis, appearance of the people, clothing. 3. Social relations, elites, specialised production, exchange. 4. Subsistence: agriculture, archaeobotany, farming and hunting, archaeozoology. 5. Mining, distribution and use of raw materials. 6. Transport and means of transport. 7. Trade, exchange, long-distance contacts, roads. 8. Hoards - their meaning, typology, compositions. 9. Military, weapons, wars, invasions etc. 10. Settlements, architecture, urbanisation, typology of houses etc. 11. Burials, their time-spatial development and local specifics. 12. Religion: sanctuaries, religion centres, sacral artefacts etc. 13. Art - visual, musical. 14. Intellectual skills - astronomy, writing, medicine.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is the intensify of student´s knowledge about the society, economy, religion and another aspects of men´s life of Central Europe in the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age, i.e. in the period of about 2300 - 50 BC.
Students become intensify information about the society, economy, religion and another aspects of men´s life of Bronze Age and the Iron Age in Central Europe.
Prerequisites
Graduate of the courses "Bronze Age" and "Iron Age" in the bachelors study of Archaeology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment

Written examination. Knowledge of the teaching subjects and the recommended specialized literature; it will be taken the activity in the discussions during the teaching into consideration. In seminars each student must present a paper on chosen topic.
