Course content
1) Introductory lesson, introduction, basic phrases. 2) Czech phonetic system, pronunciation practice, basic phrases, expanding vocabulary - nouns. 3) Basic syntax, verb tense - persons, expanding vocabulary - pronouns. 4) verb conjugation - verb tenses, expanding vocabulary - adjectives. 5) verb tenses - verb tense, negation, expanding vocabulary - conjunctions. 6) inflection of names - falls, practising conversation, expanding vocabulary - prepositions. 7) inflection of names - number and gender, adjectives. 8 ) numbers, conversational topic: city, practising grammar - verbs. 9) Hours, conversational topic: food, practising grammar - nouns. 10) place and time relationships - adverbs and prepositions, conversational topic: house and apartment. 11) Conversational topic: holidays, Christmas, expanding vocabulary. 12) Conversational topic: diseases, vocabulary expansion - human body. 13) grammar revision, preparation for the final test. 14) final test.

Learning outcomes
The course is offered to exchange students (advanced) of the University of South Bohemia (JU). The course is realised in the practical form concentrated to practicing grammar and conversation.
The aim of course is working knowledge of the Czech language on the B1 level of the "Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) - Independent User".
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Czech language (minimum level A2).

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment

Regular attendence (max. 3 absence). Active participation in seminars. Completion of assigned tasks. Successful passing of a final test. (1 regular and 2 resits).
