Seminars: Introduction to practical tasks Basic calculations necessary for the laboratory course Introduction to general sustainability principles (UN) and application of sustainability in microscale of the basic chemical course Content of practical course: Safety precautions in laboratory practice. Weighing on analytical scales, working with chemical glassware, esp. with graduated glassware, desiccation of substances, preparation of solution of precise concentrations, acid-base titration with an indicator, usage of micropipettes. Basic chemical calculations Graf construction. Keeping lab records a preparation of final reports.

| Learning outcomes |

Introductory lab training course designed to repeating and improving the fundamental laboratory skills. To introduce fundamentals of sustainability and its application in the microscale of basic chemical practical course
Students acquire skills in the very basic laboratory techniques used in chemical laboratory (weighing, filtration, vacuum filtration, centrifugation, preparing solutions of precise concentrations, acid-base titration with indicator. Students master the fundamentals in preparing final reports on experimental results of laboratory experiments including correct referring to sources of information. |

An introductory course without any requirement for previous laboratory experience. No special knowledge and competences are expected for enrolment to the course.

To pass the course, all laboratory experiments must be performed, reports of selected experiments must be completed. |
