Learning outcomes
Supplementary more detailed information to the topics of the course UCH 036 for the chemistry students. The biochemistry and its processes from the chemical point of view.
Overview of basic principles and knowledge of biochemistry. Students will acquire broader knowledge of biochemistry on chemical principles. They gain chemical bases of life, biologicaly active substances, their functioning and interaction and on the biochemical processes and metabolic pathways.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of the UCH036 Biochemistry course or a similar basic biochemistry course at another university.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment
Recommended participation on lectures. Continuous study and self study of the subject. Elaboration of a seminar work is required. During the oral examination, student has to show knowledge from both description and dynamic biochemistry. The overall knowledge of all basic metabolic processes will be required.
