    | Content of lectures:  1. Introduction - structure of the atom, periodic table. 2. Nomenclature of inorganic chemistry, chemical equation. Fundamentals of organic chemistry nomenclature. 3. Chemical bonding, weak bonding interactions. 4. States - characteristics of individual states. 5. Solutions - solubility, solubility product, colligative properties. 6. Acid-base balances - dissociation, hydrolysis, buffers. 7. Kinetics of chemical reactions, practical application of first-order kinetics. 8. Thermodynamics - basic concepts and their meaning for chemical reactions. 9. Electrochemistry - galvanic and electrolytic cells, Nernst equation for cell potential. 10. Selected chemical methods I: spectrophotometry 11. Selected chemical methods II: chromatography 12. Selected chemical methods III: potentiometry, electrophoresis.  Content of tutorials/seminar:  The seminar further explores the topics discussed in the lectures.
