Course content
Content of lectures: Theory of high frequency passive circuit, use of complex numbers for analysis of high frequency circuits. High frequency transformers, design and construction High frequency amplifiers Bipolar, unipolar and IGBT high power transistor Characterization and description of amplifiers, class A, AB, C, D, E, F and their basic circuits High frequency oscillators Frequency transformation, phase lock loop Content of practicals: Basic calculations in high frequency circuits.

Learning outcomes
Introduction to the basics of high-frequency circuits and power switching technology. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic connections of high-frequency amplifiers controlled by both bipolar and field-controlled transistors. The course will also focus on the theory of high-frequency linear circuits and their applications. Last but not least, the course will also deal with radio frequency technology and leadership theory.
Students will learn the theory of high-frequency circuits and their applications in practice. They will be aware of the types of modern transistors and their basic connections. Knowledge of high-frequency technology will give him insight into the issue of information transmission using electromagnetic waves. They will also have knowledge of the design of high-performance switching elements and amplifiers of different distortion classes and their applications in various amplification elements.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites and co-requisites Basic knowledge of electronics, as discussed in basic electronics courses at the Faculty of Science.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Active mastering of the curriculum in the range of lectures given by the thematic plan of the course. Credit: attendance at seminars and active participation in calculating examples. Examination: demonstration of knowledge at the minimum of 75%. During the oral exam, the student will be asked one question from the theory of switching transistors and one question from high-frequency electrical engineering.
