Course content
Lectures: 1. Hygiene, organization of hygienic service in the Czech Republic, basic hygiene regulations 2. Sport in a polluted environment (air, water, soil) 3. Indoor environment of buildings, sick building syndrome 4. Hygiene of medical facilities, sterilization, disinfection 5. Life factors, biorhythms, jet lag, sleep, acclimatization 6. Health risks of harmful habits (smoking, alcoholism) 7. Personal hygiene, sexually transmitted diseases 8. Basics of epidemiology, ways of spreading infectious diseases 9. Immunity and its types, ways to increase immunity 10. Possibilities of prevention of infectious diseases. Disinfection, sterilization 11. Nosocomial infections 12. Characteristics of selected infectious diseases related to sport (respiratory, neuroinfections, parasitic diseases, EBV) 13. Rational diet. Basic components of the diet and their characteristics. Pyramid of nutrition. Hygienic requirements for catering. Diet system 14. Travel medicine

o understand the position of hygiene in the system of medical sciences o explain the system of unity of the organism and the environment o get acquainted with the systems of hygienic service o understand the relationship between the environment and the human body o acquire basic knowledge from the fields of "Medical Microbiology", "Epidemiology" and the field of "Medical Immunology" o be familiar with the necessary practical procedures
