Course content
Content of this course is pedagogical interpretation of mathematics methods and theories with the focus to secondary school curriculum, work method statements, organization of math teaching, explanation of educational materials and resources. Thematic units follow secondary schools curriculum, part of this is supported by mathematical software. 1. Planning and preparation for teaching, motivation of students, parts of lessons, feedback, preparation of educational materials and record keeping. 2. Teaching and assessment methods in mathematics, influence and importance of ICT using. 3. Students with different levels of mathematical talent, communication with students in mathematic. Methodology: 4. Goniometry and trigonometry, application, mathematical software. 5. Plane geometry, shapes, maps, sets and algebra, mathematical software. 6. Plane geometry, construction, mathematical software. 7. Combinatorics and probability, mathematical software. 8. Statistics, data, mathematical software. 9. Space geometry, mathematical software. 10. Solid geometry, volumes, surfaces, link to integral, mathematical software. 11. Sequences, series, limits, infinity, convergence and divergence, application, mathematical software. 12. Vector algebra, systems of linear equations, mathematical software. 13. Analytical geometry, 2D, 3D, algebra, mathematical software. 14. Analytical geometry, conic section, functions, mathematical software. 15. Secondary school calculus. 16. Problems and solutions of mathematical olympiad (continuously)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Projection, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
  • Preparation for classes - 80 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 52 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
This course follows the course Didactics of mathematics I with a goal to train students to manage their teaching at secondary school.
Students will acquire skills necessary for managing their practical stay at secondary schools.
Prerequisites
Perfect knowledge of secondary school curriculum on a high-school level. This course follows the course Didactics of mathematics I.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Test, Interim evaluation

- active attendance of practicals - at least 70% points from one written test - exam: successfully answered questions from one topic
