Course content

Content of this course is to intensify one´s knowledge, use different teaching methods, forms of evaluation and testing. The course is also mediation and transfer of experience practitioners, knowledge of information sources and trends in education. 1. Preparing teacher to teach students with different level, motivating tasks, elementary tasks, problem solving. 2. Classroom organization, differentiated approach to students, feedback. 3. Information resources, textbooks, web resources, portals, mathematical journals for teachers and students, proceedings of conferences. 4. Mathematical Olympiad, mathematical competition, exhibition of student's works. 5. Introduction to web applications available for math education, electronics learning tools. 6. Use of mathematical software in specific areas of teaching mathematics. 7. Interactive whiteboard in math teaching. 8. Understanding trends in education, school reform, state graduation in mathematics, changes in education. 9. General revision more thematic units in secondary school math, context of individual parts, differentiated approach to students. 10. Optional mathematical seminars and workshops at secondary school, teaching materials. 11. Testing, administered comparative tests, evaluation methods. 12. Secondary schoolleaving exam, state and school exam, preparing for entrance exam at universities according to type of study. 13. Preparation of teaching, making of a mathematical text, information about text editors, LaTex. 14. Applied tasks for secondary school math. 15. Experience from abroad.

Learning outcomes

This course follows the courses Didactics of mathematics I and Didactics of mathematics II. Students will gain skills for successful managing everyday work of a secondaryschool teacher.
Students will acquire skills necessary for managing their practical stay at secondary schools.

Prerequisites

Perfect knowledge of secondary school curriculum on a highschool level.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Test, Interim evaluation
 active attendance of practicals  at least 70% points from one written test  exam: successfully answered questions from one topic
