Course content
Week 1 (4 hours) General principles of peripheral venous cannula and ports application. Specific principles of peripheral venous cannula application in children of all ages. Application, port care in children. Week 2 (4 hours) General principles of infusion preparation and administration. Work with linear dispenser, infusion pump. Specifics of preparation and application of infusion to children. Week 3 (4 hours) General principles of patient preparation for the introduction of a central venous catheter (CVC). Assisting a nurse to introduce the central venous catheter. Care for central venous catheter. Specifics of preparing a child for the CVC, assistance of a nurse in introducing the CVC to a child, care for a child with CVC. Week 4 (4 hours) General principles of transfusion administration. Specifics of administration of blood products and derivatives to children. Week 5 (4 hours) General principles of biological material collection - blood. Specifics of blood collection from children of different age groups. Week 6 (4 hours) General principles of biological material collection - urine, faeces and others. Specific principles of urine collection, stool in children of different age groups. Week 7 (4 hours) General principles of enteral nutrition, NGT, care of PEG, PEJG. Specific principles of enteral nutrition, care of PEG and PEJG in children of different age groups. Week 8 (4 hours) General principles of wound care, small surgical procedures, care of a patient with tracheostomy. Specific principles of wound care in children of different age groups. Week 9 (4 hours) General principles of punctures and endoscopies. Specific principles of child preparation for puncture and endoscopy. Week 10 (4 hours) Training of practical skills of nurses in selected activities.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and skills in the area of saturation of basic needs of children of all ages, and knowledge and skills for performing practical activities - with an orientation on children of all ages.
The student will acquire knowledge and skills in the area of saturation of basic needs of children of all ages. The student will acquire knowledge and skills for performing interventions in children of all ages. The student will acquire theoretical knowledge to perform interventions in the area of dependent and independent nursing activities. The student will learn practical implementation of the "holistic care" of children, understand the importance of satisfying the need for comfort, respect, security and safety of children of all ages. The student will acquire manual skills to perform individual nursing interventions for children of all ages. The student will realize the consequences of unprofessional interventions in providing individual nursing care. The student will learn to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions. The student will learn to perform interventions in the area of nursing dependent activities, i.e. diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test, Systematic student observation, Self-reflection

90% attendance in seminars, initiative and activity in class, fulfilling the conditions of continuous evaluation of theoretical and practical skills, credit test (80% success rate), practical performance and its oral defense.
