Course content
Tutorials: 1.Position of Czech cynology in the world. Cynological organizations in the Czech Republic and in the world 2.History of the rescue cynology. Principal requirements for the rescue dog 3.Choice of the breed and selection of the dog. The nutrition of the dog 4.Taking care of the dog and its accommodation. Types of dogs in terms of higher nervous activity 5.Control of breeding dogs, controls of the suitability of breeding within particular breads of dogs 6.Upbringing of a puppy, imprinting period 7.Appropriate socialization of the puppy, principal habits in young dogs 8.Cynological competitions, dog condition and endurance 9.Training methods and their differences, training directions (hunting dog, rescue dog, defending dog, tracking and searching dog, agilities) 10.Rescue training directions, examination orders (ČKS, IPO, SchH, SZBK, IPO-R, Mondioring, HZS, KJ, Obedience)

Learning outcomes
The subject is aimed at principles of cynology in our country and position of the Union of rescue brigades of cynologists of the Czech Republic within the Integrated Emergency System. The subject also deals with training and upbringing of rescue dogs. It acquaints students with methods of the choice of the breed and training of the rescue dog. It furthermore deals with training methods and types of rescue dogs.
The student knows principles of cynology in our country as well as in the world. He/she knows the appropriate upbringing and training of the rescue dog. He/she knows training methods and directions. He/she knows testing orders designed for the training of rescue dogs.
