    | Lectures: (1 class per week - 12 weeks) 1st week: Introduction to problems. Nursing as a scientific discipline (the term, the definition, the subject of nursing). Relationship between nursing and the other scientific disciplines. 2nd week: History of nursing.  3rd week: Philosophy of nursing. Alopathic and nonalopathic approach to treatment of a disease. 4th week: Organisation and management of nursing care. The concept of Czech nursing. Forms and methods of nursing care.  5th week: Primary, secondary and tertiary care. Community care. Palliative care. Introduction to rehabilitation nursing. 6th week: Education in nursing and the other non-medical professions. Legislative documents associated with education in non-medical health professions. 7th week: Regulatory system of nursing practice. National register of health workers.  8th week: National and international professional organisations in nursing and urgent care.  9th week: Quality and standardization of health care and nursing care. Quality management. Audit. Accreditation of health-care facilities in CZ.  10th week: Nursing process as a method of nursing practice - introduction  11th week: Nursing documentation: Nursing anamnesis. Differrences of assessment in children, adults and seniors.  Nursing assessment of the present health condition.  12th week: Anamnesis collection in the ill according to M. Gordon's model.

" Students receive orientation in the particular phases of the nursing process " Students are familiarized with the problems of basic human needs and are able to classify the basic needs of clients/patients " Students know the Maslow hierarchy of needs and its use to judge the needs " Students are able to implement a nursing process methos according to patients' present condition " Students are able to acquire the basic information on bio-psycho-social-mental human needs and their reaction to an unsatisfied need " Students are able to establish nursing diagnosis in connection with an unsatisfied need to a particular disease " Students can satisfy patients' needs according to their recency  " Students can care for the physiological needs of clients/patients - need of nutrition, hydratation, excretion, mobility, sleep, rest as well as physical well-being, hygiene, sexuality " Students can care for patients with pain " Students can care for the basic psychosocial needs in clients/patients  " Students can satisfy the need of certainty and safety " Students can satisfy the need of self-respect and self-realisation " Students can satisfy spiritual needs of clients/patients " Students can plan nursing care for a client/patient according to their individual needs " Students can completely assess the nursing process according to the present or potentional nursing diagnosis " Students have the knowledge and skills which are necessary to satisfy an individual's needs  " Students can elaborate a case report according to Gordon's model - a nursing diagnosis, plan and assessment " Students can use specific measuring devices in nursing (VAS, Bartel, Northon...)
