Course content
Lectures: (2 hours per week - 12 weeks) Week 1 Hematological issues in intensive care medicine - introduction, examination methods, anemia - types, etiology, symptoms, differential diagnosis, therapy Week 2 Hematological issues in intensive care medicine - hemolytic syndrome, thrombocytopenia - aetiopathogenesis, clinical signs, diagnosis, therapy Week 3 Hematology in intensive care - Disseminated intravascular coagulation - etiopathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, therapy. Antithrombotic therapy. Haemostypics. Week 4 Acute conditions in haematooncology (acute leukemia), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, complications. Week 5 Acute conditions in hematooncology (Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, multiple myeloma, tumor disintegration syndrome, hematopoietic cell transplantation), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, and complications. Week 6 Shock and shock states - definition, distribution, pathophysiology, clinical signs, diagnosis, therapy, adjunctive therapy Week 7 SIRS (systemic inflammatory response syndrome), MODS (multiple organ dysfunction syndrome), and MOF(multiple organ failure) - definition, etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, therapy, prognosis Week 8 Issues of serious infectious diseases in intensive care medicine (meningococcal meningitis, tetanus, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, hepatitis), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, and complications. Week 9 Severe body temperature disorders (regulation and monitoring of TT, hypothermia, heat stroke, malignant hyperthermia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome) causes, pathophysiology, diagnosis, therapy Week 10 Drowning (drowning in salt and fresh water, dry and wet drowning, primary, secondary), strangulation (hanging, strangulation, gagging) - pre-hospital and acute hospital care Week 11 Acute intoxication - types, diagnosis, general aspects of therapy, prognosis; most common intoxications with drugs and medications (barbiturates, benzodiazepines, TCAs, paracetamol, salicylates, opioids, amphetamines, cocaine, etc.) Week 12 Acute intoxication - ethanol, methanol, ethylene glycol, carbon monoxide, mushrooms, snakebite Seminars: 1st - 3rd hour Hematological issues in intensive care - hemolytic syndrome, thrombocytopenia, disseminated intravascular coagulation - specialized nursing care. 4th - 5th hour Acute conditions in haematooncology (acute leukaemia), Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, multiple myeloma, tumour breakdown syndrome, haematopoietic cell transplantation - specialised nursing care. 6th hour Shock and shock conditions - specialised nursing care. 7th hour SIRS (systemic inflammatory response syndrome), MODS (multiple organ dysfunction syndrome) and MOF (multiple organ failure) - specialised nursing care. 8th hour Issues of serious infectious diseases in critical care medicine, (meningococcal meningitis, tetanus, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, hepatitis) - specialized nursing care. 9th hour Severe body temperature disorders (regulation and monitoring of TT, hypothermia, heat stroke, malignant hyperthermia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome) - specialized nursing care. 10th hour Drowning (salt and fresh water drowning, dry and wet drowning, primary, secondary), strangulation (hanging, strangulation, gagging) - specialized nursing care. 11th + 12th hour Acute intoxication - specialized nursing care.

To familiarize the student with the primary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in intensive care internal medicine " To introduce the student to the basics of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in acute medicine " Introduce the student to patient care before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in acute conditions in internal medicine. " To introduce the student to the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe neurological impairment " To introduce the student to the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with impaired consciousness " To familiarize the student with the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe respiratory impairment, " To introduce the student to the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe impairment of the cardiovascular system " To teach the student to recognize fundamental heart rhythm disturbances on an ECG recording " To introduce the student to the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe impairment of the uropoietic system " Introduce the student to the basics of blood purification methods " To teach the student how to care for the patient while performing blood purification methods " Introduce the student to the chronic dialysis program and the work of the nurse in the hemodialysis center " To familiarize the student with the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe GIT impairment " To teach the student with the regulations and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with acute complications of diabetes mellitus and endocrine disorders " To familiarize the student with the regulations and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe hematologic and hemato-oncologic disorders " To teach the student to recognize metabolic and internal environmental diseases, including complications, and to participate in their management, " To familiarize the student with the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with severe infectious disease " To teach the student with the regulations and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients in shock and with multiorgan failure " To introduce the student to the principles and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients with acute intoxication " To familiarize the student with the regulations and delivery of highly specialized nursing care for patients after drowning and strangulation
