Course content
Weekly Teaching Practice takes place at a chosen secondary school and it comprises at least 12 weekly in-class observation lessons followed by analyses and evaluation of students´ teaching. Student-teachers observe the lessons in small groups and take turns to teach in at least two lessons. The teaching is followed by a thorough analysis, self-assessment and peer-assessment, all students are actively involved in the assessment of their peers.

Learning outcomes
Weekly Teaching Practice - French Language and Literature enables students to get the first practical experience with teaching the French language at secondary school. During observation classes and their own teaching, the students apply in practice theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during pedagogy and psychology-based courses and during Foreign Language Teaching Methodology and FLT methodology courses of their study programme.
Students will learn how to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during their study within the environment of a chosen secondary school. They will gain the first real teaching experience and they will improve their evaluation and self-evaluation skills from the teacher´s perspective.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's language skills, Systematic student observation, Student portfolio analysis, Hospitace, Self-reflection

Regular and active attendance (100% attendance is required), keeping written records of all observation lessons, written teaching preparation including a detailed methodological commentary (for at least two lessons). ongoing evaluation of peers´teaching, final interview with the faculty methodologist comprising an analysis of own teaching.
