Course content
1. The verb and its morphological, semantic and formal properties. Grammatical categories of Spanish verb finite. The system of verbal times and ways. 2. Morphology of the Spanish verb: presente de indicativo (hablo). Regular and irregular shapes, central and peripheral functions. 3. Morphology of the Spanish verb: pretérito / imperfecto de indicativo (hablé / hablaba). Regular and irregular forms, central and peripheral functions. 4. Morphology of the Spanish verb: futuro simple / condicional simple (hablaré / hablaría). Regular and irregular forms, central and peripheral functions. 5. Morphology of the Spanish verb: compound times. Central and peripheral functions. 6. Category of the modus: imperative. Regular and irregular forms, use. 7. Category of the modus: subjunctive. Regular and irregular forms, use. 8. Impersonal verbal forms (infinitive, gerundium, participle). Regular and irregular forms, use. 9. Categories of diatesis: , active, patient, media. 10. Categories of aspect. Periphrasis verbal.

Learning outcomes
The three-semestral course of morphosyntax provides students with a view of functioning of Spanish grammatical system. The main emphasis is given to flective morphology (formation of correct forms end their use), other part of the course is dedicated to the basic introduction to syntax. Part of the course is validation of different hypothesis by working with corpus tools (CREA, CORPES). Basic knowledge of working with corpus tools is demonstrated in the seminar paper.
The student will have been introduced to the principles problems of morphology of the Spanish language. The students will have demonstrated an active knowledge of Spanish grammar. Interpretation of resultas obtained of the corpus.
Prerequisites
The course assumes knowledge of the Spanish language at least at level B1 The advantage is the previous completion of the course Morphosyntax 1 and knowledge of basic linguistic terminology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

1. Regular attendance (3 absences allowed) Not valid for students on study abroad, foreign internships or students with an individual study plan. 2. Active participation. Active participation does not only mean that the student is physically present in the seminar, but especially that he/she is continuously preparing for classes during home preparation. If a student is repeatedly unprepared in class, he/she may be dropped from the class; in which case, he/she will be given credit for the absence. During distance learning, active participation includes preparation for class, such as handing in assignments and participating in the seminar. 3. Seminar paper (the evaluation of the paper will be taken into account in the Morphosyntax III exam) 4. Credit test - the student has 2 attempts (1 regular and 1 remedial) Students may use the tutorial sessions to clarify any ambiguities in the material covered in lectures and seminars. Dates of credit examinations and exams will be announced in the examination period according to the JU Faculty of Arts timetable. Requirements for students UBS participating in the Erasmus+ programme (teaching mobility or internship): 1) Self-study of the material discussed in class including the completion of all tasks set in the Moodle system. 2) Completion of a credit test upon return from the placement/internship (within the deadline set by the timetable for the AR). 3) Submission of the seminar paper.
