Course content
1. Political system of contemporary France. 2. France and the European Union, France and the world. 3. French education. 4. Religious and racial (in)tolerance in the contemporary French society. 5. Mass unemployment . 6. Questions connected with immigration in France. 7. The position of France in the war against terrorism. 8. Universalism and the national identity. 9. Lifestyle of contemporary France. 10. Contemporary French culture.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
Learning outcomes
The course is focused on French culture and civilisation.
Students should acquire a complex vision of everyday life in France and political system of the French Republic.
