Basic legal regulations and other acts in the field of radiation protection valid in the Czech Republic, regulations of the European Union and Euratom and the International Atomic Energy Agency, international recommendations, systematic supervision of RO, registration of IR sources, quantities, parameters and facts important from the RO point of view, requirements for permits for activities in exposure situations, notification, registration, documentation for permitted activities submitted to the SÚJB. 2.-3. Principles of radiation protection, justification, optimization, limitation of doses and security of sources, classification of workplaces, classification of radiation workers, sources of ionizing radiation, definition of monitored and controlled band, personal radiation cards and conditions of their use. 4.-5. Fundamentals of atomic and nuclear physics, types of radiation, shielding, interaction of IR with matter in general and with living matter, deterministic (tissue reactions), stochastic effects, assessment of health consequences, health damage. Quantities used in radiation protection to assess risks. 6-7 RO during medical and veterinary irradiation. The method of patient protection, the principle of optimization and its application in practice, diagnostic reference levels, dose optimization limits, the effect of technical parameters of the source on the patient dose, procedures for determining the doses of patients and workers, national radiological standards. Radiological event and its classification. 8.- 9 RO in industry, education and research. Ways of detection and measurement methods of IS, quantities and units used in dosimetry. 10. Workplace monitoring, personal monitoring, discharge monitoring, surroundings, monitoring levels. Monitoring programme. 11. Radioactive substance, closed and open radionuclide source, criteria for exemption of IS sources from regulation, transport, transfer, disposal of IS sources, release of radionuclides into the environment, release levels, exemption levels. 12. IZ as a risk factor of working conditions, health care system for occupationally exposed persons (occupational medical services), for persons exposed during radiation emergencies, representative person. 13. Radiation emergencies, types of contamination, decontamination procedures. 14. Preparedness for response and response to a radiation emergency, internal emergency plan, external emergency plan, National Radiation Emergency Plan, limiting exposure, methods of protection against ionizing radiation.
