Course content
Program of the IUW 2023 - topic: Social work and its diversity 1. Lectures and workshops given by the internatiional university . 2. Excursions to social services. 3. Social and cultural program. Anotation of sections: 1. Mobility and Work What are the requirements for just social work, which we have to consider with a new urgency of the superdiverse context in which we live? What are the implications of our inclusive attitude for social work which is motivated by conscious work with diversity? This section of the conference will be a practically oriented meeting during which we encourage participants to share examples of good practices, new methods and techniques. We will open the debate with topics such as critical self- reflection and identity, intersectionality, privilege, power and marginalization within the sphere of social work with refugees, migrants and minorities. Another framework for our intense meeting will be to examine the role of schools of social work and their curriculum in preparation of professionals who are ready to work in a given environment - in the era of superdiversity on one hand and current crisis which we witness in many parts of the world. Are the schools of social work up to the new dynamics of our times? 2. Evidence Based Social Work Evidence-based practice as an integrative decision-making process can improve client outcomes and effectiveness in social work practice (Drisko, Grady, 2012) and enables mutual expert enrichment. This section is open to everyone who wants to know which methods, techniques, approaches of social work have proven to be effective. It will be an open space where examples of good practice in social work in selected European countries can be presented and learned. 3. Green Social Work and Community Social Work Yes, the color of social work is green! What does green social work mean in the 21st century? The profession of social work has a role in greening and sustaining the environment. What methods and therapeutic approaches - using the relationship between man and nature - are used in social work? Is it only animal assisted activities and intervention, garden therapy, social farming or is there more? This section is focused on green social work in theory and practice as a new environmental paradigm for the social worker profession. 4. Medical Social Work Is interdisciplinary cooperation important for social work? How do social workers work with doctors and medical staff? Interdisciplinary work is very important to us. The social sector cannot do without cooperation with the health sector. The Medical Social Work section presents a topic connecting the social and health fields. It will show the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation for the benefit of clients and their families. You can look forward to examples of good practice.
