Course content

1. Definition and terminology. Play therapy - history and current understanding in the context of social work. 2. Sandplay in social work - theoretical definition, ways of working. Self-experience. 3. Sandtray in social work - theoretical definition. Self-experience. 4. Self-experience at Sandbox - individual and group. 5. Phases of sessions in the context of working with the therapeutic Sandbox. 6. The therapeutic sandbox and its use within social work and social services. Sandbox and figures. 7. Emotions and feelings at the therapeutic Sandbox. 8. The role of the counsellor and therapist within Sandplay and Sandtray. 9. Sandplay and Sandtray - individual work. 10. Sandplay and Sandtray - group work. 11. Sandplay and Sandray - target group children and families. 12. Sandplay and Sandray - target group of adults. 13. Sandplay and Sandray - target group seniors. 14. Self-experience at Sandbox- individual and group.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Interview, Systematic student observation, Seminar work
The course is completed credit and oral exam. Terms of credit: 1. active participation in lectures and work at the therapeutic Sandbox including individual and group self-experience. 2. processing and presentation of a seminar paper on the assigned topic. After getting the credit students may complete oral exam. Oral exam: Students proceed to the oral exam after successfully obtaining credit by the deadline listed in the system STAG.
