Course content
Lectures: 1. Intraduction of Theory of Social Work. 2. Ethic codex of social workers in Czech Republic.History of social work and ethic rules of social work 3. Dilemmas of synchronous social work 4. Personality and status of social worker 5. Psychodynamic theories 6. Psychosocial approaches in social work 7. Human and existential perspectives 8. Socio-psychological and communication types 9. Role theory, Labelling theory 10. Strategic therapy 11. System conception in social work 12. Anti-oppressive approach in social work 13. Approach oriented on tasks 14. Socio-ecological perspectives Seminars: 1. Introduction of Social work. Personality of Social Worker. Video - example of direct work with clients. 2.Ethic rules of social work, ethic codex of social workers in Czech Republic. 3. Dilemmas in social work. Social functioning. ?Eco-map?, ?Genogram? 3. Personality and status of social worker (possibilities, skills, competences, professional expectations, professional qualification, other education). 4. Psychodynamic theories (evolution levels of psychosexual maturing, defence mechanisms ? examples, basic techniques of psychoanalysis. 5. Psycho-social approaches (key postures of social worker ? practice of model situation, work in groups). 6.-7. Scholastic and existential perspectives. Video projection ? teaching DVD ? shows of practical model situations, discussion. 8.-9. Socio-psychological and communication models (status theory, labelling). Verbal, nonverbal communication ? practice of model situation, work in group). Video projection ? teaching DVD ? shows of practical model situations, discussion. 10. Systematic therapy. Learning outcomes
Aim of this subject is to acknowledge students with theories in social work, which are the basis for following study of social work methods. Partial aim is to teach students to analyze and critically think about philosophical and ethic connections of social work as a science for helping professions.
- Student is able to define the term of social work and its definition -Student understands the social work as helping profession in context of ethic dilemma -Student can define the role of social worker including his identification in accordance with law No: 108/2006 Coll. as amended

To participate actively at seminars; team cooperation.Reading. Subject is terminated by inclusion (80% success) - 1 regular regular term and 2 reparative exam + oral exam - 1 regular regular term and 2 reparative exam.
