Course content
Lectures 1. Evidence-based social work - theory and practice 2. Selected theoretical issues of social work and their application to the practice of social workers. 3. Evidence-based social work with abused and neglected children 4. Evidence-based social work with individuals with a health handicap 5. Evidence-based social work with psychiatric patients 6. Evidence-based social work with the elderly 7. Evidence-based social work with the dying 8. Evidence-based social work with drug abusers 9. Evidence-based social work with the homeless 10. Evidence-based social work with the unemployed 11. Evidence-based social work EB with immigrants and refugees 12. Evidence-based social work with victims of family violence 13. Evidence-based social work with individuals, families, groups and communities 14. Evidence-based international social work with specific populations (children grown up in the street, working children, orphans, etc.) Seminars 1. - 2. Looking up relevant social work information from various sources 3. - 4. Data classification - according to the study typology. Systematic reviews/meta analyses, random controlled studies, quasi-experimental studies, case and cohort studies 5. - 6. Data classification - according to the study typology prior to experimental group study, qualitative studies. 7. - 8. Data interpretation and transfer to practice. Risks of the evidence-based results applicability in the social worker`s practice. . 9. - 10. Evidence-based social work and its transfer to the macro-level. Social-environmental model and its relation to evidence-based social work. 11. - 12. Methods and techniques of social work in selected target groups I - evidence classification, development of the best evidence-based practice 13.-14 Methods and techniques of social work in selected target groups I - evidence classification, development of the best evidence-based practice.

Learning outcomes
The goal of the subject is to make students acquainted with evidence based social work as a key competence in the application of methods and techniques of evidence-based social work focused on various target groups. The goal of the seminars is to acquire the techniques of evidence-bases social work so that they can be used in practice taking into account the risks of applicability in various settings and at various levels.
Achieved competences Students will be able to use the best latest evidence in social work consciously, explicitly and sensibly, i.e. they will integrate the individual and clinical expertise with the best possible evidence from a systematic research.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for mastering the subject is previous knowledge of methods and techniques of social work (previous bachelor study in a related or identical field), practice in the field of social work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Colloquium

Seminar thesis in the form of a review - goal: finding the best practice based on evidence chosen from /health-social area. presentation of the output at seminars (for full-time students). Using the quotation norms and modes according to the Faculty rules (see: the Dean`s Measures) Defending literature search study within the colloquium.
