Course content
1. Introduction to the theory atmospheres (Böhme) 2.-5. Atmosphere, aura, qualitative thought and aesthetic quality. 6.-10. Atmospheres in various theories of art 11.-13. Atmospheres and knowledge 14. Final test.

Learning outcomes
The seminar will be devoted to one of the current directions of contemporary aesthetic theory, philosophy, and aesthetics of atmospheres. During the seminar, attention will be paid first to the motivations and reasons for introducing the critical concept of the atmosphere, and its historical and current alternatives will also be considered. Then, the seminar will examine the usability of this term in various branches of aesthetic theory, in the aesthetics of nature and environmental aesthetics, in the aesthetics of architecture, in literary aesthetics, and the aesthetics of fine arts. The critical potential of this theory for other value fields will also be considered.
Basic orientation in the field of art and culture sciences.
Prerequisites
The course presupposes the basic ability of argumentation and basic knowledge of cultural area.
