Course content
1. Introduction to dramatic art. 2. Dramatic work as a collective work of art - Gesamtkunstwerk. 3. Dramatic work and dramatic text. 4. Dramatic text as a component of a dramatic work. 5. Acting art. 6. Is acting art a performing art? 7. dramatic person. 8. Theater scene vs. dramatic space. 9. Theater direction. 10. Musical component of a dramatic work. 11. Dramatic situation. 12. Dramatic storyline. 13. Problems of puppet theater. 14. Theater as a visual metaphor.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The course will introduce the students to the basic theoretical problems and concepts of dramatic art. The main arguments for the conception of dramatic art as an independent and original art type will be presented and analyzed, not as a mere connection of already existing art. Individual components of this complex unit will be monitored.
Students will be able to distinguish the basic components of the theater and see their type of connection.
Prerequisites
The course assumes a basic orientation in the history of culture.
