Course content
|
The following topics are considered during lecture: - Preparation of C.V. and Abstract - -Speaking at scientific meetings - -Writing scientific papers (technique of writing) - -Preparation of poster - -Use of software - -Preparation of PhD thesis - -Preparation of project proposal - -Survival kit for stay abroad - -Scientific ethics During the course each student should represent his poster and oral presentation at training conducted in form of scientific conference organized by students.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide the basic information on modern requirements to scientific communications such as: article writing process, oral and poster presentation at conferences and science metrics which are essential for assessment of scientific activity.
After this course, students will have basic information required for preparation of scientific projects, scientific writing, presentation on conferences and will be able critically estimate their scientific activity.

Prerequisites
|
PhD students are already able to communicate fluently in English and have basic knowledge on computer software allowing document processing and presentation preparation.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance assessment, Interview, Systematic student observation, Seminar work
Presents on90% of lectures and practice. Preparation and presentation of own poster, 15 min oral presentation, and paper abstract. All these items should be prepared in English.
