Key learning outcomes Following the program characteristics, Applied and Landscape Ekology focuses on a holistic approach to landscape function assessment, which is a potential tool for the integral diagnosis of key landscape functions (ie efficient dissipation of solar energy through vegetation, water content in the landscape and minimal water losses). This approach makes it possible to integrate sectorally separate disciplines, such as spatial planning, protected area management, water management, landscaping, together with EU standards (eg. the European Convention on Landscape Protection, the Water Framework Directive and others). This framework is followed by research directions that deal with the application of knowledge in practice in the field of land management, good agricultural practice, water protection. Other aspects are ecological and ecophysiological aspects of the functioning of important landscape elements as well as the role of important, protected or invasive organisms and activities associated with the practical application of knowledge such as rescue cultivation and transfers of endangered organisms, reclamation projects, projects of joint land management facilities, management impact assessment.
Specific admission requirements unspecified
Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning unspecified
Qualification requirements and regulations Graduate of a master's program in agriculture, natural or technical fields, good knowledge of English, ability to formulate research questions, ability to work independently (very good level of Diploma Thesis) and relevant topic of disertation.
Profile of the programme Academic
Persistence requirements unspecified
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is able to apply the acquired knowledge of the results of their own creative activity in practice. He is able to integrate knowledge of landscape and ecosystem structures, processes, as well as production processes and functions and specifics of relevant economic sectors (agriculture, water management) in the search for sustainable farming methods in the landscape, especially sustainable agricultural practices and natural resources. He is able to enforce the found solutions to specific problems in practice. Acquired skills: monitor current trends, critically assess this information from various perspectives and use it effectively in one's own professional activities; monitor and evaluate the state of the relevant components of nature and landscape and the state of natural resources in a heavily modified human landscape and propose ways of their protection and sustainable use; to design, organize and implement biological, ecological and agricultural experiments and to prese
