The aim of follow-up Master´s study program "Archival studies" is to improve the konwledge of graduates of Bachelor´s program. The form of program results from the current experiences so far. Compared to the Bachelot´s studies focusing at first on the work with early modern material, this one is extended the graduates to gain more detailed knowledge about the Middel Ages (especially in the subjects of the medieval paleography and diplomatics) to be able to work with historical written documents at all. This program is also focused on the more detailed teaching of several auxiliary sciences of history, there was not enough space left for lesons in the Bachelor´s program and studies included only complement to basic konwledge (e.g. epigraphy, genealogy), but such of disciplines are important for future graduate´s employment. Special attention is concentrated on the sources forming a larger part of documents not only in the archives, which requires the special knowledge and methods (i. e. documents from municipal and patrimonial provenance, ego-documents etc.). The students will broaden their knowledge of the field of archival science (actual development and changes of this one in the Czech and in the European context, record service), as well as the knowledge of foreign languages (the Latin and German of historical sources) and in accordance with experiences with the editions of all kinds of documents from different eras and written by different languages (editoria work). The lesson of the history of early modern printed books is focused on these artifacts (and similar materials) stored in the archives and also in the libraries (especially with historical funds) to make possible to employ the graduates there. Another increasing of student´s conpetencies offer the lessons of compulsory subjects (art history, museology, monument care). In th plans of study programs A1 maior and A2 minor are included the most important subjects: in the study plan A1 is possible to choose from two groups of compulsory lessons focussing either on the medieval paleography and diplomatics or on the administrative history.
