Key learning outcomes The aim of the study is to train experts for educational practice and subject-didactic research: scientific and conceptual professionals who will be able to solve complex and demanding theoretical as well as practical problems of subject didactics in STEM subjects. Students are prepared for research work in both basic and applied research. Emphasis is placed on preparation for interdisciplinary research in STEM education. Considering the profile of the cooperating departments at the Faculty of Education, JU, and other faculties at JU, and taking into account the focus and topics of the ongoing research projects of these departments, student preparation will be more strongly focused on issues of motivational and evaluative processes in STEM teaching, on interactions between pupils and teachers, on the specifics of education in the STEM approach, on didactic frameworks that are in line with STEM (e.g., inquiry-based learning), on research of educational goals and content (including the methodology of their creation) and on their processing in the curriculum and teaching, etc., and therefore equal emphasis will be placed on educational and professional skills of students.
