Course content
Principles of work with scientific information: Searching for scientific information in electronic databases, their sorting and processing. Personal bibliographic database, citation rules of information sources. General principles of obtaining and evaluating scientific results: scientific method, rules of experiments, basic methods of statistical evaluation, interpretation and discussion of results. Principles of creating a scientific text: scientific style, creation of pictures and tables, structure of a scientific publication and dissertation, oral presentation at a scientific conference, poster.

  • Semestral paper - 100 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The student will learn the general principles of scientific work and acquire the practical skills needed to present scientific results by analysing their own or other published scientific work
Practical skills needed to present one's own scientific results (writing a dissertation and a scientific publication, presenting the results at international scientific conferences).

Completion of a master's or engineering degree
