Course content
Lectures: 1 - Introduction to the subject, contents and aim. 2 - Management concepts and the historical evolution of management. 3 - Manager´s personality. 4 - Manager ´s tools 5 - Organizing and organization structure. 6 - Human resources management. 7 - Leading of employees and teams. 8 - Theory of motivation. 9 - Communication. 10 - Decision making. 11 - Control processes. 12 - Organization culture and change. 13 - New trends in management.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
  • Preparation for classes - 30 hours per semester

  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of subject is to provide basic theoretical knowledge in the field of management focused on managerial activities (functions) performed by managers. Students acquire information about theoretical attitude, principles, methods and techniques of management.
Students understand the principles of management and their application in a company.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for the course are commonly required skills and knowledge at this level of education, the course is not conditioned by the completion of another course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Credit requirements: Presence and activity on seminars. Work on the semester project. Examination requirements: Written examination (60% success rate).
