Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The course of Engineering Mathematics is for students of agriculture-oriented study programmes. It is targeted at the fundaments of linear algebra, the theory of functions, differential and integral calculus, and differential calculus of 2-variable functions. Applications are emphasised.
The student will understand the basic concepts of linear algebra and the theory of functions. He/she will use the basic algorithms of linear algebra, perform the basic techniques of differentiation and integration and their applications on external problems solving.
Prerequisites
The course has no prerequisities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Test

- a 100% presence in the seminars, - hand in 10 tasks in the Moodle LMS, - 2 credit tests taken in Week 7 and the last week of the semester, students have to score in each of the test at least 50 %, students may take each of the tests twice in maximum (1 resit is allowed). The students that passed both the credit tests can register for the exam. The registration is made via the STAG system. The exam is written and oral: - the written part consists of 4 complex problems, the time allocated is 60 min. - students have to prove their knowledge of the subejct matter coverd by the whole semesnter in the oral part
