The main topics of the course are as follows: - Major immunological organs and major groups of cells involved in immune responses - Humoral and cellular immunology - The importance and function of innate and adaptive immunity - Immune response cascade (mucosal protection, complement activity, pathogen recognition by immune system receptors, development of inflammatory response, phagocytosis of pathogen and presentation of basic antigenic determinants using dendritic cells) - Pillars of adaptive immune response (variability of BCR and TCR receptors and course of antibody and cellular defense) - Disease prevention in aquaculture systems - Vaccination and immunomodulation through fortified feed - Basic immunological methods

Immunology is a science dedicated to preserving homeostasis and organism integrity despite pathogenic talents from the environment. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of the immune response. Exercises will be focused on practical exercises of basic immunological methods
The completion of the course provides the students with a basic understanding of the immune responses and knowledge of key immunological methods.
