Practical placement covers the content of three subjects, which are obligatory to the curriculum of the Medical labortory technician: Special microbiology I, Special clinical chemistry I, Haematology I. Exact work flow is always dependent on the actual laboratory routine.

During a two month stay the student will be trained in practical laboratory work in the fields of haematology, microbiology and clinical chemistry.
Special microbiology I - Sowing microbes, evaluating and identifying them. Evaluating antibacterial sensitivity. Identifying parasitological microbes and microscope them with fluorescence microscope. Will be introduced to ELISA. Special clinical chemistry I - Working with analysers. Evaluating and diluting tests that are over the linear limit. Evaluating and following internal quality control. Evaluating interference. Haematology I - Blood smear preparation and microscopy, urine precipitate preparation and microscopy. Making tests with faeces and evaluation of the tests, testing blood clotting and evaluation of the tests and testing reticulocytes.

Předpoklady
|
Student must have basic laboratory skills and knowledge to be able to participate in the routine medical laboratory work. The practical placement has to be arranged in advance to guarantee the availability of the involved laboratories.

Analýza výkonů studenta, Systematické pozorování studenta
Student is obliged to follow the instructions and adhere to the requirements of the labortory personel. Special microbiology I - Student identifies and evaluates microbes and parasites. Special clinical chemistry I - Student can work with analysers, follows instructions and can dilute tests. Haematology I - With instructor's help student can make blood smears and urine tests. Student can test reticulocytes and faeces and knows about quality control and evaluates tests correctly.
