Brief outline of the course: (content standard) 1. Basic theory of conflict 2. Causes of conflicts 3. Conflict function 4. Structure of the conflict 5. Typology of conflicts and data sets 6. Dynamics of the conflict and its phase 7. Conflict, violence, peace, security 8. Post-conflict reconstruction 9. Theory and practice of conflict resolution in the conditions of the 21st century 10. Conflict prevention and its tools 11. Conflicts and global and regional security issues 12. Conflicts and prevention in the conditions of the Czech Republic, the United Nations, NATO and the EU Learning outcomes (performance standard): student 1. will use theoretical knowledge to master the principles of causes, dynamics, resolution and prevention of conflicts 2. is able to independently assess and analyze conflicts and their relationship to the security environment 3. creatively applies theories and practical examples from the practice of international relations 4. will evaluate the basic theories of conflict in the context of security aspects of international relations 5. evaluates, based on verifiable facts, the causes, course and resolution of conflicts from the point of view of security studies 6. creates a knowledge base for his professional ability to analyze conflicts in a qualified manner in the form of the output of his own case study of a specific situation
