Obsah předmětu
This course offers an overview of the current state and practices of the World Marine Aquaculture. Oceans extend over 70% of the Planet Earth and is believed to be the home of over 20.000 fish species and 1.98 million species of animals and plants. Such habitat is an untapped resource that has the potential to be the future main source of healthy sustainable protein for the planet. Currently, only few species are commercially exploited. Lectures will go over the main marine species produced and the methods that are cultured in as well as the practical applications from the production of such species. 1. Introduction to Aquaculture. 2. Mariculture 3. Intensive Marine Aquaculture and Sustainability. 4. Cage Aquaculture. 5. Seabream Aquaculture. 6. Seabass Aquaculture. 7. Mollusks Aquaculture (Bivalves & others). 8. Microalgae's Aquaculture. 9. Live feed aquaculture. 10. Other Species. 11. Future species. 12. Marine Stock Enhancement.

Monologická (výklad, přednáška, instruktáž), Dialogická (diskuze, rozhovor, brainstorming), Laboratorní práce, Exkurze
  • Exkurze - 16 hodin za semestr
  • Účast na výuce - 36 hodin za semestr
  • Semestrální práce - 16 hodin za semestr
  • Příprava na zápočet - 16 hodin za semestr
  • Příprava na zkoušku - 20 hodin za semestr
Výstupy z učení
Course aims are to allow the students to learn about the current state of Marine Aquaculture production and demands. The students will broad their horizons and will be exposed to new species and cultured methods based on the marine environment. Learning about different culture methods and protocols allows students to diversify their knowledge, helping to develop their critical thinking and capacity to solve problems and take novel initiatives. Practical knowledge on Phytoplankton and Zooplankton culture at laboratory level will be achieved during the practical's.

Recommended prerequisites are basic knowledge about biology and aquaculture.
