Course content |
Content of lectures: 1. Microscopic methods, staining techniques in microbiology, 2. Virological and bacteriological cultivation methods, classical typing methods, 3. Biochemical methods of species identification of bacteria, determination of sensitivity to antibiotics, 4. Molecular biological methods for identification of microorganisms (hybridization techniques, restriction analysis, microbial genome mapping and construction of gene libraries, sequencing methods, polymerase chain reaction, electrophoresis of nucleic acids, genotyping), 5. Proteomic methods for microbial diagnostics (protein electrophoresis, blotting techniques and other electromigration methods, mass spectrometry of peptides and proteins, flow cytometry), 6. Immunological methods for microorganism identification (using polyclonal, monoclonal and recombinant antibodies, immunomagentic seapartion, agglutination tests, immunoassays (ELISA, RIA, FIA) biosensor technology, dip-stick techniques and other methods for rapid diagnosis of microorganisms).
