Lectures: 1. Introduction to the history of attempts of Europe unification; 2. Since the establishment of the ECSC and EEC to Maastricht; 3. The main reasons for European integration, leading to the EU; 4. European integration as a form of regional development; 5. Main activities and principles of EU regional policy; 6. Institutions and policies and their development; 7. Common foreign and security policy; 8. Foreign trade and competition within the EU; 9. Environmental policies and its global impact;1 10. EU energy policy and climate change; 11. EU Common Agricultural Policy; 12. Social policy as an integral part of European integration; 13. Common currency as a further unifying element of the European Union; 14. Options for further development of the EU, the EU's candidate countries.

Výstupy z učení
|
The course acquaints students with the history of the unification efforts, the beginnings of the integration process in the 50th of the 20th century, with the course of the integration of the EU institutions and bodies, regional and international policy of the EU, introduction of the single currency, the reasons for the emergence of regional policy, incentives for establishment of the common currency EURO, foreign and security policy, EU regional policy and its global impact on the environment, with further development in the field of economy and conditions for further regional development.
Students will understand the main reasons leading to the formation of the EU and the whole issue of European integration and EU institutions, including the history of its internal and foreign policy. Students will be able to understand the historical context of the main advantages and disadvantages of the EU.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

Kombinovaná zkouška, Seminární práce
Credit Requirements: Seminar paper and its presentation. Credits will be awarded not earlier than 14 days before the end of the semester in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15. Examination Requirements: Written test and oral exam. The examinations will be written 3 weeks before the beginning of the examination period in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15.
