Course content
Practices (120 hours) in social institutions, students can watch and actively participate in social work with families or different target groups. Students are expected to make a portfolio which they have to present during the final bachelor exam. Practices are accompanied by methodical course and supervision.

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on gaining practical experience in the field of social work. Students get theoretical and practical education in specific methods of interpersonal communication, meet different social organizations and get a chance to learn how to solve possible problems. The subject focuses on social work with families or groups. Supervision enables reflection of experience that the student learned during practices. Knowledge and skills are developed in professional practice.
Students get basic information about the structure and legislation of organization, know the situation of the family and it's needs, gain professional skills in communication and actively participate on solving different cases. The course should prepare the student for respecting the client, be sensible to ethical aspects and responsibilities in this field.

The student have already finished or is currently studying course of Social work with family or Social work with groups.

Assessment methods and criteria
Interview, Student portfolio analysis, Colloquium, Self-reflection

Undergoing practices in given term and passing the final exam, attendance at supervision courses and handing the report with reflections which also have to contain description (in detail) of work with the chosen target group and confirmation from the organization that the student attended practices and carried out given tasks. Special requests for given semester can be found on the website of the department of practices.
