Lectures: 1. The subject and terminology of developmental psychology, developmental curve. 2. Developmental theories ? Freud?s and Erikson?s. 3. Cognitive development - Piaget. 4. Moral development ? Kohlberg. 5. Methods used in developmental psychology, longitudinal and transversal approach. 6. Prenatal stage, delivery. 7. Newborn and infant. 8. Toddler, development of speech and self-awareness. 9. Preschooler ? cognitive development, fantasy, cooperation and role understanding. 10. School age, school readiness assessment. 11. Puberty and adolescence. Identity crisis, career development. 12. Adulthood, work and family challenges. 13. Old age, retirement, institutionalised senior. 14. Thanatology. The student will be able to: - Define each stage in life from physical, cognitive, emotional and social aspect. - Describe different developmental theories and apply them into different life stages. - Identify risk and protective factors in each stage in life. - Promote mental hygiene principles in each developmental stage. - Understand values and principles in different stages of life. - Assess fulfilment of different developmental tasks.
