Obsah předmětu
Lectures: 1. Health and sickness from the perspective of psychology, psychiatry and nursing. 2. Comprehensive assessment of mental health - impairment, disability, handicap. DSM IV. 3. Classification of activity and participation disorders. 4. Comparison of institutional and community care of people with mental disorders - advantages and disadvantages of both approaches. 5. Multifaceted approach to care for the mentally ill. 6. Psychic risks and protective factors in health. 7. Life style and its impact on health and sickness (2 lessons). 8. Quality of life in health and sickness. 9. Mental hygiene in classical and biodromal approach. 10. Stress - terminological issues (2 lessons). 11. Conception of stress and stress models. 12. Stress and health. 13. Possibilities in coping with stress. Increasing of resiliency towards challenges. 14. Addiction to alcohol and other psychoactive substances. 15. Specifics of nursing care of the acutely and chronically ill from the perspective of clinical psychology and psychiatry. 16. (2 lessons) Specifics of nursing care in the context ofsurgery and internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics. Seminars: 1. Mental hygiene in classical and biodromal approach. 2. Stress. Terminological issues, concepts and models of stress. Stress and health. 3. Psychological risk and health protective factors. 4. Possibilities in coping with stress. Increasing of resilience. Self reflection. 5. Communication in challenging life situations. 6. Life style and its impact on health and sickness. 7. Quality of life in health and sickness. 8. Addictions. 9. Nursing care for drug addicts. 10. Values in life, health psychology. The student will be able to: - Define differences of health and sickness from the perspective of clinical psychology, psychiatry and nursing care. - Describe and classify mental health and its impairments. - Defend the significance of community care in comparison to institutionalized care; and the functioning of a multidisciplinary team. - Identify risk and protective factors in psychic health. - Promote mental hygiene principles. - Understand values in quality of life and life style. - Present causes and manifestations of burn out syndrome and its prevention and management. - Analyze specifics of nursing care in surgery and internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics. - List characteristic manifestations of acute and chronic disease from the view of clinical psychology and psychiatry. - Use principles of effective communication. - Apply principles of mental hygiene. - Analyze effect of relaxation methods. - Tolerate priorities and life values of a client with respect to context and situation of the client. - Do self reflection and know his/her own position towards mental hygiene.
