1. Ethics as a discipline or field of study 2. Basic ethical terminology 3. Relationship of an individual to oneself 4. Relationship of an individual to others, to the society and environment 5. Protection of human life 6. Respect to life, respect to old and handicapped people 7. Profession related ethics (burn out syndrome, syndrome of a helper) 8. World religions. Tolerance and fundamentalism 9. Tolerance towards different cultures 10. Ethics and research. Dilemmas in research - Define different terms in ethics - Describe different approaches in ethics such as deontological and consequencial ethics - Identify risk and protective factors in psychic health. - Promote mental hygiene principles and be able to use them in order to prevent burn out syndrome - Understand values in ethics - Present causes of ethical and non-ethical behavior - Analyze specific ethical codes and norms - List characteristics of different world religions - Use principles of effective discussion - Apply principles of mental hygiene
