The student knows principles and procedures of increased monitoring and care for newborn in first hours after birth The student knows methods and procedures of monitoring and care for newborn with after-birth lesion The student knows methods of monitoring and providing nursing care to newborns with presence of physiological jaundice The student knows methods and procedures of monitoring and resolving presence of condition of hypoglycemia in physiological newborn The student knows risks and symptoms of presence of pathological conditions in newborn, methods of solution including initiation of immediate resuscitation The student knows methods of communication and establishing relationship of cooperation with mother of newborn with presence of above stated changes of health condition The student knows procedures of performing preventive examinations and procedures in physiological newborns with increased need of monitoring and care in after-birth period The student knows methods and means to provide nutrition needs of newborns with after-birth lesion, with physiological jaundice, with symptoms of hypoglycemia, with symptoms of change of health condition The student knows instrumentation used in care for newborn The student knows hygienic and legal standards indispensable to manage and lead nursing care provided to newborns within system of health care, management of safe environment for newborns The student knows particularities of procedures in physical examination of newborns, right technique of monitoring and resolving changes of health condition and signs of newborn The student is able to evaluate the gravity of changes of health condition and signs of newborn, to provide urgent care, including initiation of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation The student is able to master safely the health-care technology needed for care for newborn The student is able to satisfy individual needs of physiological newborns with regard to changes of health condition with the method of nursing process The student is able to provide for nutrition needs of physiological newborns with stress on breast feeding The student organizes passing of information to the mother, the parents on mastering particularities in care and bringing-up newborn after returning to their family environment The student is able to master right techniques of holding, handling, changing the nappies, stimulating with tender touch in such newborns
