Key learning outcomes The primary goal of doctoral studies in the Integrative Biology program is to prepare students for independent scientific work in the areas of molecular cell and developmental biology and physiology, molecular phylogenetics, evolutionary cytogenetics and molecular integrative physiology and immunology with selected biomedical problems. by work on a scientific project, the aim of which is to contribute to clarify some of the basic issues of current biology and publish the results in the scientific literature. This primary goal is formulated with the knowledge that not all graduates will become independent in the future researchers and that there are many alternative careers that this doctoral program supports. In all these activities, it is essential to orientate oneself in the scientific literature, to communicate with the scientific community, to propose project procedures and implement appropriate methodologies for them. The skills to work in a research team, to present own proposals, to analyse and critically interpret the results and outputs, whether in the form of a scientific publication, clinical output or a product for the client, are essential.
