Course objectives:
|
The aim of this seminar is to familiarize students with the rudiments of work with a literary text and to provide them with practical knowledge necessary for translation of English literary text into Czech. This seminar will gradually get students familiar with basic principles of translation, which they may later use in specialized seminars, as well as provide them with basic information concerning translation in practice. Students will focus on texts and problems that might appear at the beginning of their career. The aim of the seminar is to enable students to try and translate various kinds of texts and to point out the possible difficulties of translation.
