Key learning outcomes Bachelor's degree programme French Language and Literature is designed so that in all three variantions, namely A, A1 (maior) and A2 (minor), the basic knowledge of general linguistics, systematic knowledge of synchronous linguistics of the French Language (phonetics and phonology, morphosyntax, lexiology), basic knowledge of literary theory and history of French literature. In the French language, the study provides the acquisition of linguistic competences at the level of C1 (or B2 in the minor variant) according to the Common European framework of reference for languages. The obligatory component also includes familiarity with the relevant cultural realia. In variants A and A1 (maior) of the study plan, students will also receive the foundations of Latin, Romance, corpus and computational linguistics and insight into the broader historical context of the French language and literature (history of Romance countries, an overview of the development of Romance Literature). In the variant A of the study plan, students also receive a competence in the field of vocational language (administrative-legal and commercial French) and the foundations of another Romance language of their choice (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese). Under compulsory optional courses, the obtained philological basis can be extended by further specific knowledge and competences e.g. from the field of world literature, translatology, language culture or media studies or to complement e.g. the foundations of Czech, European or commercial law.
