Key learning outcomes Anglicky The field of study General Crop Production focuses on sustainable farming methods in the foothills and mountain areas, aimed at creating harmony between their production and non-production applications. To study appropriate farming methods and define the conditions for the protection of natural resources, sustainable landscape development and the economic and demographic stabilization of rural regions. On "Maintenance and improvement of productive and non-productive soil properties of agricultural land" on "Food and non-food use of biomass from agricultural production". Priorities are nutrition and agrotechnics of classical and alternative plants and their use as raw materials for food industrial and non-food energy, chemical, pharmaceutical processing with emphasis on complex waste-free processing, including model processing technologies to improve the economy of marginal areas. Priorities also include energy production using thermal (pyrolysis and gasification for cellulosolignin materials) and biotechnological methods of processing lignocellulosic biomass. Anaerobic digestion or production of ethanol, butanol, or other biofuels from biomass with emphasis on the use of grass matter from soils set aside. Waste-free technologies are solved in the field by incineration of treated waste or their processing into organic or organomineral fertilizers. All with the aim of ensuring sustainable agricultural production with priority in relation to maintaining and increasing soil fertility in LFA areas in the foothills and mountain regions of the Czech Republic with an emphasis on promising ways to use energy from renewable sources. Special attention is paid to the process of humification of primary organic matter, plant nutrition and fertilization, especially the improvement of plant nutrition with nitrogen, phosphorus and magnesium. To improve the use of phosphorus from fertilizers and soil reserves by plants through partial regulation of the humification process of organic matter in the soil, detoxification of cadmium-infested soils by application of synthetically prepared humic acids and study of dynamics of physical and agrochemical properties of soil in modern soil protection technologies. Attention in the study of the field is also paid to the issue of agricultural machinery, especially in terms of optimizing its activities (use of GPS, modern management systems), minimizing negative impacts on the environment (eg minimizing soil compaction due to agricultural machinery) and the use of modern technological procedures in the above areas. Attention is also focused on soil erosion protection and research into the principles of sustainable rural development. Study of innovations of technological procedures on arable land to obtain quality plant production suitable for food, feed, energy and other non-food uses.

Qualification requirements and regulations Only graduates of master's degree programs at universities can apply for admission to the DSP.
Profile of the programme Academic
Persistence requirements unspecified
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is prepared for the profession of independent researcher in the field of General plant production, plant nutrition and fertilization, pedology, agrotechnics, comprehensive use of biomass, organic farming and sustainable landscape management. Spatial planning and evaluation of ecological functions of the landscape. He will be able to monitor and evaluate the state of the agricultural ecosystem and its individual components, organize, manage, control the state of natural resources, propose a method of protection and optimal use. Application can be expected in education, state administration, business, consulting and expert activities. Graduates will be prepared for the performance of their profession in foreign workplaces of this specialization.
