Key learning outcomes Study programme the French language for European and international trade (FJEMO) is based on an analysis of the student requirements of the programme as well as the needs of the labour market. It is a programme which is a constant interest among applicants for study. France is an important trading partner of the Czech Republic, with experience in practice showing that the application of graduates of applied philology is very high. The study programme FJEMO is conceived as a combined and professionally focused. The central component of the presented program are subjects from the field of education of philology, namely the French language. The main representations have disciplines of linguistic theory and practice with emphasis on subjects of applied philology (commercial and legal French), in the subject-matter of both literary and cultural disciplines. Literary subjects are conceived as an introduction into the texts of the French literary canon, literary theory is not taught here because of the nature of the field. Given the language competences of the current generation of study candidates as well as the needs of the current market are obligatory parts of English language courses (from level B1), both in general and in the field of professional (Business and legal English). Students will also be able to choose a third foreign language (second Romance language) within compulsory selectable subjects (from beginner level). The central philological component of the study programme is complemented by selected subjects from the fields of education of economic sciences (macroeconomics, microeconomics, marketing, fundamentals of trade). This accessory component of the study programme consists of basic introduction into the field of economic sciences with emphasis on practical application of acquired knowledge in seminars. In the context of this component, legal subjects are offered in the alternative (Introduction to law I, II, commercial law, European law), which target systemic and terminological aspects, and one course of practice representatives. The seminars of the relevant professional language are based on economic and legal subjects. Expert French and English terminology, with which students familiarize themselves in these seminars, is supported by theoretical knowledge of disciplines. The secondary economic component of the presented combined study programme is provided by experts from the resources of the Faculty of Economics, in the 3rd year a professional course is provided by external experts from the non-academic sphere. An integral part of the FJEMO study programme as a professionally focused study programme in the 3rd year is a compulsory twelve-week practice in domestic or foreign companies or government offices of all grades. Students can deepen their knowledge in both areas of education in their study visits to partner universities abroad. In addition, since 2007, the FJEMO study programme has been offering a unique opportunity to acquire so-called Double diploma, i.e. next to bachelor diploma of the University of South Bohemia and bacherol diploma in Applied foreign languages for international trade at the Université Bretagne-Sud (the condition is the completion of both semesters of the 3rd year at the partner University in Lorient). The study stay is funded by the Erasmus + programme.
